Standard safety rules will be strictly adhered to at all times while using the Rifle Sportsmen's Club range. In the event of a club sponsored match, the range officer, of officers, will devise and enforce safety rules for the particular match or event. These rules will be clearly explained to all competitors, along with any penalty, before the match or events begins.
The range is open Monday through Friday 7 am to 10 pm and on Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 9 pm.
MEMBERSHIP & RANGE SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

ABSOLUTELY no intoxicated people, or intoxicating substances of
any kind, are allowed on the Range. Alcohol is NOT permitted
anywhere on the Range.

Treat all firearms as if they are loaded AT ALL TIMES.
-
Keep your finger off the trigger until your firearm is aimed at
the target.
-
Never let the muzzle cover (point at) anything you are not
willing to destroy.
-
Know your target and what is beyond it.
-
Cooperate with others on cease-fires for target placement and obey
all Range commands.
-
Shoot only in the appropriate direction from the designated firing
lines.
-
No one will be allowed down Range until firearms are unloaded with
actions open, and all weapons are tabled, grounded, or holstered.

Fire at authorized targets only.
-
Cans, bottles, etc., are NOT to be used as targets.
-
Firing into target frames, rails, or any fixtures of the Range
will NOT be tolerated.
-
Absolutely NO birds, animals, or reptiles may be shot on Range
property.
-
Fire only on designated Ranges.
-
Use the portion of the Range that has been developed and
structured for specific firearm use. (i.e. only shotguns are
allowed on the trap/skeet Range).

Rifles, pistols, and muzzleloaders can be fired on any portion
of the rifle Range.
-
Rim fire pistols and rifles can be used on all steel pistol
targets.
-
Center fire pistols can only be fired on large steel targets, or
paper targets.
-
Fire only authorized firearms and ammunition.
-
No shot larger than 7 ½ or slugs are permitted at the shotgun
Ranges.
-
No AP (armor piercing) rounds or .50 BMG rounds may be fired at
steel gongs.
-
You MUST use appropriate ear and eye protection at ALL TIMES.
-
This rule includes spotters and score keepers during matches.
-
Call “Cease Fire” and make safe all firearms when observing any
unsafe condition or when a shooter moves forward of the firing
line.
-
Notify a Club Officer immediately of any safety infractions.
-
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times, and
accompanied by a member.
-
Place all trash, used targets, empty ammo boxes, etc., in the
trash containers that are provided before leaving the Range.
-
If a “No Burn” ban is in effect, place all trash in the dumpster
or take it home with you.
-
Police all brass that accumulates on the Range.
-
Lock the gate after entry.
-
If the gate is open when you arrive, you may leave it open
unless you see that no one else is at the Range.
-
DO NOT give the gate combo to anyone who is not a member.
These standard safety rules have been devised for your safety, as well as to ensure a long-lasting sportsmen's club. Common sense and respect are always good guidelines to follow.
