We are affiliated with the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA). We use the scoring and equipment rules listed on their website:
www.idpa.com .
Our targets range from cardboard silhouettes with scoring rings to steel peeper poppers and plates. Shooting distance ranges from 2 yards to 25 yards. We keep score but maintain a shooter friendly atmosphere. There are no prizes of monetary value.
A normal pistol or revolver that you would carry for self defense will work just fine. Holsters are strong side hip holsters. We go out of our way to work with new shooters to make them safe and comfortable. If you can draw and handle your handgun safely, you can shoot with us. The normal number of rounds fired in a match is about 75. If you have questions, please call me at 625-3540 or email at
terob3@sopris.net.
